While all this was going on, relations between the miners and the griffoids became quite convivial. They traded with each other: Virtual Playstations in exchange for red Leicester and condominium yo-yos (these could yo up and down, down and up, side to side, round and round – amazing toys).
Soon the Pilgrim Mothers and Fathers (and, indeed, the other settlers on the planet, who had come as construction workers and miners) came to realise that long term peace on the planet depended not just on the absence of any gods but also on the positive encouragement of fair trade between everyone.
In due time, Andromeda's baby son was born. They named him Perses. Perseus made a music box for him and he and Andromeda would sing to Perses of the Nereids which was the name given to the spectacular meteor shower that occurred every night on the planet Gaia.
Meanwhile, Phineus was becoming increasingly impatient with the lack of progress with condominium mining. He decided to employ much more aggressive tactics, driving right up to the picket line in a huge earth moving machine which he called his “Game Changer.”
The pickets, which included the Griffoids, many Pilgrim Mothers and Fathers, including Andromeda herself and several of Phineus' own men, stood in firm defiance.
