Meanwhile, one day Andromeda came to Perseus with some news of her own:

That's right: she was going to have Perseus' child. It was going to be a boy. They were both “over the moon” (notwithstanding the fact that Gaia had 15 or 16 moons, depending on what size of orbiting rock debris you were prepared to give the status of “moon”).

By and by some time passed. Phineus was back and forth to Earth on his warp-yacht. One day he returned with Cassiopeia, Andromeda's mother. Would you believe it? Andromeda was flabbergasted.  Phineus had cajoled Cassiopeia to come to Gaia in order to try to persuade Andromeda to get the griffoids to call off their picket. The discussion that followed degenerated into an argument as to whether Andromeda should marry Perseus or Phineus. Yes, that old chestnut!

After this conversation, Cassiopeia had lots to think about. If we listen to her musings, we start to understand that she was not as hard-hearted as we may have thought:
